Import/Export Emails

Import Emails

You can import EML files stored in your local system into  mail. If you have more number of EML files to be imported into  mail, you can create a .ZIP archive of the emails (.EML format). The size of the ZIP file can be up to 200 MB.

Steps to import EML or ZIP files to  Mail

  1. Click Settings
  2. Select Mail Settings >> Import/ Export Messages
  3. Select the Account to which you want to Import the Messages from the Drop down box
  4. In the Import Section click the 'Choose File' button to choose a file to Import.
  5. Click Browse.
  6. Locate the folder which has the file to be imported.
  7. The file should be .EML file or a .ZIP file which has .EML files zipped. Click Ok.
  8. Select the Destination folder in  Mail to which you want the mail to be saved.
  9. Click Submit
  10. The request will be sent to the server queue.
  11. After an hour, the imported messages will arrive in the folder chosen by you.
  12. In case, the import failed due to some reason, you will receive a notification from the admin with details.

Export Emails

You may choose to export some mails to your local system either for backup or for other purposes.

Steps to export Emails from  Mail/ Other Mail Accounts configured

  1. Click Settings
  2. Select Mail Settings >> Import/ Export Messages
  3. In the Export Section, select the folder from which you want to export messages from.
  4. Click Browse and choose the mail folder to be exported.
  5. Select the duration from the drop down box.
  6. Click Submit.
  7. The request will be sent to the server queue.
  8. After sometime, you will receive a notification email with a link from which the mails can be downloaded in .Zip file format.
  9. The email will be sent to the same account from which you have requested export.
  10. In case you click the link, when you are not logged in to the  account, you need to authenticate to download the file.
