Can I change the format of the Case Number?
No, you cannot change the format of the Case Number. However, you can hide the Case Number field and create a custom field as per your requirements.
To hide fields
- Log in to CRM with Administrator's privilege.
- Click Setup > Customization > Layouts.
- In the Page Layout page, drag and drop the field to the List of Removed Fields section.
- Click Save.
To add custom fields- Log in to CRM with Administrator's privilege.
- Click Setup > Customization > Fields.
- Select a Module from the drop-down list and click New Custom Field.
- In the New Custom Field page, do the following:
- In the Select Field Type section, select the field type.
- In Provide Field Details section, enter the field related details.
- Click Save.
Note: Use the Auto Number field type to generate numbers automatically.
